Cancelled Event Reimbursement to the Stake Budget
We had a member reserve a location for a stake event. He was of course reimbursed for the reservation. However, the event had to be cancelled and now we need to get the money back into the stake budget. Does anyone know how this is done at the stake and/or ward level?

Re: Cancelled Event Reimbursement to the Stake Budget
At a ward level, the member writes a check, puts it in an envelope, and gives it to the bishop. The check is processed like a donation, but destination is selected as budget instead of tithing or fast offering.
I believe the stake would do it the same way - the difference is that the stake is not used to processing "donations".

Yes, the process is the same. You do the same thing if you have an event with a refundable cleaning deposit. It's one of the few reasons the stake has to process 'donations' anymore.russellhltn wrote: Mon Jan 29, 2024 10:34 am I believe the stake would do it the same way - the difference is that the stake is not used to processing "donations".
