Xerox is using DRM on their toner

Our librarian reported that their machine had run out of toner. A replacement "compatible" cartridge was located (somebody had wanted to save some money apparently) but the machine detected that it wasn't a genuine Xerox item and refused to print. I thought that this was settled by the Supreme Court back in 1936 (International Business Machines v. United States).
