Audio on WIFI

Post by joeyman3 »

I just got a new phone and it won't play audio except for text-to-speech. I have a WIFI connection, but it won't do it unless I say to use data. Is there a way to download the audio over wifi or just play it over wifi? It used to work.

Do you have an example of a piece of content you're trying to listen to (not all content has recorded audio)?
Is the Wi-Fi network you're connected to a VPN, or does it have web filtering or content blocking enabled? Some web filters have blocked the Church's CDN in the past.
Since it's a new phone, have you checked to make sure any system updates are installed? Sometimes phones ship with things a version or two behind and need to be updated.

Normally, if you're connected to Wi-Fi, it should allow you to stream the audio recordings (or if you're connected to data with "Limit Mobile Network Use" turned off). When connected, you can also download audio using the overflow menu on the audio player, or download audio for the full book by using the overflow menu in the top right while viewing the table of contents for the book. After audio is downloaded, it should be able to play whether or not you have a connection.
