Calendar Sharing

Post by wrigjef »

Is it possible to share a calendar, created by one unit, with another unit? I know that if units share a building and the calendar reserves a resource, it’s visible by other units in the building. I’ve spent time at the beginning of the last couple of years and created a “Come Follow Me” calendar with week long events and links. A few members see it as clutter and don’t have it visible but the vast majority of the ward like having it.

I’d like to be able to share this calendar with other units in the stake or even some units abroad. Can I share? Can the Stake take it from our unit and share with other units?

No. The only option is to create a stake calendar and re-created the events in there.

Another option, because it doesn't have anything specific to a ward or branch, would be to create it as a shared calendar through a service that's not tied to Church Account, like Google Calendar, and share that URL.

That's what I did back in the days of the LUWS. I set a stake schedule for all lessons in all wards. If we had snow days or ward conferences, we just skipped a lesson.

I’m only at the ward level so don’t have the ability to create a stake calendar. I’m actually sort of suprises Salt Lake hasn’t done one that can be pushed to anyone. For now I’ll go through the effort for just our ward.
