New Recommend Process Scenario

Post by landbeck »

With the understandable efforts to maintain distance and avoid contact during the pandemic, being able to secure a recommend virtually is awesome.

But what would happen if, after a member has finished their interview with the Stake Presidency, and they have activated the recommend, what if the member then moves to a new Stake?

Does the recommend travel with the member's record having the acknowledgement on it of the Bishopric and Stake Presidency of the previous Stake, or would the member need to secure those permissions again in the new Unit? In this scenario, the member moved before the recommend had been printed for their signature.

Using which signature system? Physical or electronic?

My understanding is that the leadership signatures are electronic, then the recommend needs to printed out for the member to sign

So I’m wondering what would I do if the member moved before the recommend had been printed for them to sign? Could the new Ward print it in the new Ward?

I do not know if the new ward/stake can reprint the recommend, but if everything was completed in the former stake, and if that stake still has the membership record, I would think that they should print it out and get it to the member.
