Feature Request - Youth Protection Training - Clerk Permissions

Post by bush.aaron »

Can we add permissions for a clerk or bishopric member to mark that someone has completed the Protecting Children and Youth training? We are striving to reach 100% in our stake, and find that there are many extenuating circumstances (glitches, older members that don't have accounts, etc.) that make it challenging to achieve. Seems that tying the completion to a members account has made it unnecessarily onerous on the ward leadership to help all complete these trainings.

I do not know if they would still do this, but my training was recorded because I took a screen shot of the completion message, emailed it to my ward clerk, and he sent it to the GSD who in turn recorded it. Part of their incentive to record it was that I actually sent three screen shots from various attempts one afternoon, none of which were never automatically recorded.

Those who direct the developers priorities don't visit this user-to-user mutual help forum. The way to get this request to those who are in a position to direct the programmers is to use feedback from any church web page. I suspect it may have been suggested before, but you are free to suggest it again. You may not receive individualized feedback to your suggestion, but it has been stated elsewhere in this forum that all feedback is read, summarized, and passed to the organizations it applies to for consideration.

Requiring people to sign in to their own account to complete the training provides a sort of digital signature. The individual user "signs" their understanding of and agreement to the principles in the training, by personally clicking the buttons in the training. If an issue arises, this type of signature can protect the Church legally more than a clerk clicking checkboxes next to ward members' names.
