Budgeting for Youth Camps

Is there any guidance from the Church in regard to budgeting for youth camps in terms of inputting that budget in LCR? If there isn't, under what category in LCR do you put those funds under since there isn't a specific youth camp category?

Not directly. General Handbook, 20.6.2, is the guidance for funding the camps. There were several topic thread discussions in the Tech Forum covering this issue that were started during the time the "Other : Authorized Member Financed Activities" category was eliminated. You can search the forum for those topic threads.

That is a local decision. Our ward followed the previous Other:AMFA account business model. We created the camp categories under the appropriate organizations as a subcategory. For example we created the subcategory "YM Camp / High Adventure" under "Young Men" and the subcategory "YW Camp" under "Young Women". This simplifies tracking budget allocations, contributions, and expenses for those activities.

Note that contributions to camps are pass-through funds and are not a charitable donation. These contributions will not appear on member year-end tax valid statements. This follows the same manner that return of budget funds for an over-payment are treated.
