Ward missionary fund donation through Philanthropies.

Post by trowre »

Does anyone know if it possible to contribute to the ward missionary fund for a specific missionary using Philanthropies? I would prefer to set up recurring donations and see that as an easy way to do it. If I donate to the mission fund and place the ward's unit number and missionary's name in the comment section, will it end up going towards the missionary?

You can only donate to the General Missionary fund that way. If you wanted a recurring way, perhaps Bill Pay to Church Headquarters might work but that is discouraged and Im not an expert there.

If you are eligible to do a qualified charitable donation (QCD) from a retirement account you could do it that way. But you would have to make each contribution individually. You would not be able to make it a recurring donation.
