Bilingual side by side Book of Mormon

I came across an app on the apple app store called Book of Mormon Translate. ( by Mollie Anderson)

It has The Book of Mormon in English & 60 other languages in a side-by-side format for Apple devices.

Perhaps you can be "inspired" to make such for The Church.

It could be helpful for English speaking Missionaries serving foriegn language missions & ESL learners.

Please pass on to Missionary Dept., Translation Dept. suggestion.

This needs to be done. The app referred to has several important flaws. Perhaps most importantly, there is no way to bookmark your place.

Sweet! I really appreciate you sharing this, I checked it out and it is a great feature. I also have just shared this info with others that I work with for my current church calling -- although it's still just specific to reading the Book of Mormon, there's definitely a lot of good can come from this. And hopefully Gospel Library isn't far behind...

Currently it is only available in the Book of Mormon app. And as was stated in the post just before your post it is not available yet in any part of the Gospel Library app, which includes the Book of Mormon in Gospel Library. However, if there is an app called the LDS Library, different from the Gospel Library, then we have no idea.

This is such a great feature! For non-native speakers of Japanese, reading the kanji is very difficult without the furigana, which clarifies pronunciation. Please add to your crazy long list of things to do!

I have the Book of Mormon app 4.10.0 but cannot figure out how to have dual language of Spanish/English in a side by side screen view. I can switch back and forth from Spanish only view and an English view but am unable to see both languages side by side. I thought that this was an available feature. Is it not?

When you're viewing a chapter (for example, 1 Nephi 1 in English), select some text, then tap Translate. It won't bring up a two-column view of the full chapter, unfortunately, but it will show that one verse side-by-side with the same verse in the other language. You can use the buttons at the bottom to advance to the next verse.
