I am looking to help a member family of Taramauru that live high in the mountains and completely offgrid. There nothing available. No electricity. No cell signal. No internet.
My thought is to provide a cellphone as a device that can be charged from a small solar panel. I am downloading the gospel library with all the spanish content i can. However, i am finding that many of the videos download insde the gospel library but still require a network connection to view them. Any suggestions for getting around this?

Re: Offline access
Does the Gospel Library "app" have an option to make them available for offline viewing? If not, can you download them outside of the Gospel Library "app" and just make them available on the device storage? If not, what about a microSD that you save them to from your PC that goes in the device? Perhaps you could instead use a used Kindle or some other device that has storage that can be attached to your PC and load them that way.thpatterson wrote: Thu Mar 27, 2025 10:07 am However, i am finding that many of the videos download insde the gospel library but still require a network connection to view them.

Re: Offline access
I thought so, but I just tested this and it does not work.ambldsorg wrote: Thu Mar 27, 2025 5:49 pm Does the Gospel Library "app" have an option to make them available for offline viewing?
While you are online, GL allows you to download videos to your device. But if you then go offline and try to play a downloaded video, GL throws an error saying you are required to be online to perform this function.
I sent feedback.

Re: Offline access
Some videos can be downloaded for offline viewing from the church web site, but not all (likely due to copyright restrictions on some). At least those could be put on a memory card if the device can play from the memory card.

Interesting find – I was able to reproduce this problem in Android Gospel Library (tested with a general conference talk video). I downloaded the video, then turned on airplane mode, and got the same error message. As a workaround (in Android Gospel Library), you should be able to play downloaded videos from Settings > Download Media.lajackson wrote: Fri Mar 28, 2025 12:16 pm While you are online, GL allows you to download videos to your device. iOS Gospel Library seems to be working correctly – I was able to download a video, then turn on airplane mode, and was able to play the video. I didn't need to go to Downloaded Media.
