Ward Directory and Map doesn't work on firefox
When I either click on the link to Ward Directory and Map or paste https://directory.churchofjesuschrist.org/ into the browser tab, it opens the login page for a half-second then gives a browser error. I attached a screenshot of the browser error.

Is the problem still showing up? Or, did it go away?
If it's still there, please try in private or incognito mode. If it works there, please clear your browser's cache and delete Church-site-related cookies. Then, it should work in all modes.

I’ve seen the same thing in Firefox. It looks like the login page starts to load, then crashes. I worked around it by using Chrome/Edge or Firefox in Private Mode (sometimes clearing cookies works too).
Try:
– Clear Firefox cache & LDS cookies
– Disable any tracking-protection or ad-blocking extensions
– Make sure Firefox is updated
If it still fails, report it through the Feedback link on the main site — seems like a site-side issue with Firefox.

Re: Ward Directory and Map doesn't work on firefox
I also observe that the directory/maps don't work properly - it's the worst on Firefox, but has problems in other browsers, too. My error looks different than what @jalanknight reported, but since the main problem seems to be with Firefox, I decided to add to this thread. Here's what I see:
Generally, I see the map and directory briefly appear, then I get the application error.
I tried this out on several browsers on a Mac. I used incognito/private mode on all the browsers. Here are the results:
Are other seeing similar problems?

- Safari: To my surprise, it works the best in Safari.
- Chrome, Edge, and Opera: If I refresh the page after it's loaded and shows the error, the error goes away and I see the directory and map.
- Firefox: The page refresh trick that worked on other browsers doesn't work; the error persists.

Re: Ward Directory and Map doesn't work on firefox
I just brought up the ward directory and map with Firefox, 140.5.0esr on Linux Devuan Daedalus, and it worked fine, at least for a short browse around. Last I was informed, Church development groups use Chrome for testing. There might be something more complex than just browser compatibility.
Have you tried clearing the browsers' caches and deleting cookies? Usually, private/incognito mode sidesteps the cookie build-up problem, but perhaps a corrupted file might have gotten cached.
Have you tried disabling browser add-ons, extensions, etc.? Do you have any custom JS code in your browser profile?
Do you have access to a connection through a different ISP? A very long shot might be that an ISP could be messing with the data stream and causing problems.

Is anyone else having issues? Maybe I'll run some tests on Windows if I get a chance.

Yes, though the error that I get is considerably different. Without a private tab, I get:mevans wrote: Fri Nov 28, 2025 8:48 am Is anyone else having issues? Maybe I'll run some tests on Windows if I get a chance.
Code: Select all
Looks like there’s a problem with this site
https://directory.churchofjesuschrist.org/ might have a temporary problem or it could have moved.
If I try in a private tab it works.
