I learned today that our Stake Center is going to get the ListenWIFI system…

…and a couple extra access points around the building. My concern is that we have Starlink for Internet and normally we shut off the Liahona WiFi during Stake Conference so that we get decent bandwidth for our Zoom broadcast and Spanish translator (who sits in the Clerks office watching the Zoom and translating for the same broadcast).
I know the ListenWIFI system doesn’t consume Internet bandwidth but it does require Liahona to be on and therefore everyone’s devices will prioritize WiFi over cellular (especially since our building does a good job of killing cellular signals), thereby using up our internet bandwidth..
I don’t see any QoS options in CNM. Does anyone else have any experience with this, positive or negative?
I’m thinking of taking a backup Starlink just incase for the broadcast PC and then leaving the rest of the network alone.

Re: Preserving Network Bandwidth with Zoom and ListenWIFI
I have the same concerns about ListenWiFi and leaving Liahona on during stake conference.
I think it will also work on Lehi so in theory you could limit access to those with need, but I can also see how the password could easily got out of hand.
I don't know as there's any way to deal with this short of waiting for headquarters to create a special LintenWiFi SSID with no internet access.

The problem is that if there is no Internet access, devices will be looking for other networks and may disconnect.russellhltn wrote: Tue Apr 21, 2026 8:09 pmI don't know as there's any way to deal with this short of waiting for headquarters to create a special LintenWiFi SSID with no internet access.
IIRC, wired devices have priority over wireless devices, so broadcasting from a wired device should help with QOS.

Which may be OK for uploading, but may not work if the video system expects timely responses. I'm not sure as you can count on the ISP to prioritize the traffic coming down over someone else's viewing of sports highlights. (Yes, I've seen that happen).Aczlan wrote: Sun May 10, 2026 8:30 am IIRC, wired devices have priority over wireless devices, so broadcasting from a wired device should help with QOS.
